Dr. Stanley graduated from George Washington University with a double degree in Chemistry and Philosophy. She then attended London School of Economics and took the Master of Science program in Logic & Scientific Method. She returned to GWU School of Allied Health Sciences and became a Physician Assistant, working at the GWU HMO and at the VA Medical Center in Cardiology before returning to GWU School of Medicine where she received her medical doctorate in 1991. She completed internship and residency at the University of New Mexico Medical Center in Albuquerque.
Dr. Stanley enjoyed the opportunity to practice community obstetrics and gynecology for a decade before specializing in the practice of abortion medicine beginning in 2004. She believes passionately in the principle of choice and her work is dedicated to providing safe and accessible abortion services. Dr. Stanley is on the faculty of the University of Arizona College of Medicine as an Assistant Clinical Professor.
